INVASION

Define your identity. Discover your purpose. Engage your World.

This trip is more than just a vehicle to serve those in need.  It is a journey of discovery, designed to connect the participant with the Divine Call of God and a means to activate the gifts He has deposited within.  In the process of serving the needs of others, you will uncover passions and dreams that lay dormant inside you.  In this journey, you will see and experience the world through a perspective that can only be accessed when you are engaged in a cause bigger than yourself.  If you come with an open and receptive heart, this trip will permanently impact the way you do life.

WHAT WE DO

INFUSE

The first 5-days will be comprised of intense prayer and worship services alongside the youth & young adults at YouGo Church and Beza Church.  We will participate in Morning Bible Study afternoon outreach and evening services...all of which are designed to reconnect you to your 'first love' and prepare you for the work of ministry ahead.

ENGAGE

The next 5-days are focused on pouring out the Love of God on those who are hurting.  This is our opportunity to be His Hands and Feet by serving those who are in need.  We will divide up into groups and serve alongside the various humanitarian organizations located with the city limits.  Nothing reveals the Love of God to us more than letting God love someone through us.

IMPART

Our final 5-days will be spent planning and promoting a ministry event in collaboration with local churches.  This is an opportunity for you to engage in the 'Great Commission'.  We will divide into various teams, each tasked with carrying specific elements of the event.  We will be responsible for all the major components of the evangelistic event, which will touch many lives through the Gospel presentation.

Mission Trip Misconceptions

I have to have prior experience with missions

Not true, at least in this case.  These mission trips are specifically designed for individuals that have never been on mission trips.  All that is required is a passion for the Lord and a willingness to grow.

Our mission trips are primarily geared towards leadership development.  Therefore, the only prerequisite is that you are committed enough to answer the call to take the next step towards your purpose.  All the activities we will be engaged in are designed to help you discover and hone your gifting and passion.

I have to have all the funds in advace

Not true.  By far, the vast majority of the individuals I’ve taken on mission trips raised the funds they needed along the way.  You’d be surprised at how many people around you would gladly invest in you when you decide to make a difference.  In fact this is how the Kingdom moves forward, some go and others send…this a Biblical paradigm.  The provision follows the vision, not the other way around.

I must be called to be a 'Missionary'

No.  Of the individuals that have gone on these mission trips and have been deeply impacted as a result, the majority were not called into ‘mission field’, in a technical sense.  Obviously we are all called to spread the Gospel in some form, but not all are called to be vocational missionaries.  Regardless of what God has called you to do, these mission trips will bring a sense of clarity, confidence, focus, and a sense of urgency to engage that purpose.

I have to have confirmation from the Lord

Yes, but you already have that in the Word - Matt. 28:18-20.  When it comes to pursuing our purpose, our posture has to be, ‘in the absence of new instructions, follow the last instruction’.  We already have a command to go, so we need confirmation to stay…not the other way around.  Generally speaking, confirmation follows obedience.

Obviously, if we have other preexisting obligations that's a different story.  But if there’s a part of you that’s drawn to the idea of a mission trip, maybe the question should be, ‘why shouldn’t I go?’.  Something to think about.

It's risky

Yes, but so is going to the store.  Risk has to be measured against the relative upside. Any major accomplishment requires a proportional level of risk in order to attain it.  In fact, the riskiest place is to be is on the shore, when God is calling you to cross the Jordan.  Whatever the next step is in your calling, it is going to stretch you out of your comfort zone…there’s no way around that.

In our journey of faith, the Lord will compel us to take a leap of faith at various junctures…in order to strengthen our faith and to elevate us to a new level influence. So, if you sense a pull towards going on a mission trip or launching a Bible study, you just have to take the plunge and trust God to show up.
